Meditating on a Mantra
Sit in a stable, comfortable posture.
Allow ten or fifteen minutes.
Breathe in and lengthen your spine.
Breathe out and relax your shoulders.
Think of a word that connects you to the Divine: perhaps Spirit, Beloved, Father, Love or Peace.
Silently repeat your sacred word, coordinate it with your breath if you like.
When silence arises, let the word recede and when thoughts return, resume mantra recitation.
Feel the energy of the Divine in your body/mind.
