Mindful Monday: I Experience The Unbroken Flame In My Inner Eye

Meditating on a Candle


  • Place a lit candle in front of you.

  • Establish your comfortable seated pose.

  • Breathe in, aware of being in your body.

  • Breathe out, aware of your body relaxing.

  • Gaze softly at the candle light.

  • Close your eyes after a minute or so and envision an un-flickering flame in your mind's eye, the area between your eye brows.

  • When your attention drifts off to thoughts, open your eyes and focus on the flame, then close them and envision the flame in your mind's eye.
